Because You Live Only Once

More than being a post, this is more of a note to myself - the things I would want to do in life... no, this is not my bucket list, though I do like that movieThis is not a complete list, I will add to it as and when I find something worthy of being included in my dream list ;)

  • Bungee Jump
  • Go off on a world tour
  • Climb Mt. Everest
  • Build my own Home
  • Get a Tattoo
  • Find my Purpose
  • Run my own Educational Institution
  • Be known for my writing
  • Go Scuba Diving
  • Find and Keep Love

When your heart wants to roam,
Unfasten the leash,
When you want to fly,
Open your wings
When you feel like laughing,
Laugh freely like a child
When you want to cry,
Cry your heart out

Because You Live Only Once

On that note, leaving you with a song that I am reminded of, every time we speak of life:

And here are what those Hindi words mean,

To offer yourself to someone for smiles,
To share someone’s grief,
To have love in your heart for someone,
This is what life is all about.
Granted, we are poor, by the standard of our pockets.
Even so, we are rich at heart .
Perish for love that is Life,
Crave for spring that is life,
This we believe, though others may not,
That this is what life is all about.
Relationship between the heart and the hearts trust,
The name of love lives on because of us.
Even if we die, we will be remembered by someone,
That we will smile through someone’s tears,
A flower will tell a bud, on and on,
That this is what life is all about!!!

  19. The whole post sort of relives your own thought process which we have missed somewhere. From the bucket list to translation.... the essence of you live only once is so starkly beautiful that one seriously begins to wonder why we have forgotten them in the rigmarole of life...

Timeless Tableau, A Twist in The Tale

The dinner with her parents went exceptionally well, especially with the surprise they had given her. Her mother came into the room with a steaming cup of coffee, just the way Asha loved. She knew from the aroma wafting from the dining room that her mom had not only settled down and made herself comfortable, she had taken over the kitchen duties and had already prepared a yummy breakfast. The news that her parents would be staying a while with her was by far one of the most pleasant surprises she had received in a long while.

A Fistful of Rose Petals

“Maaaaaaaa! Gueshh what I got” my little birdie chirped in her ever pleasing sing song voice. “Hmm.. what is it baby?” “Gueshh naaaa…” the birdie’s voice is gaining frequency the minute. She is every bit her father’s daughter – loving, raucous and edgy. Looking up at her from the book I am reading, see that her tiny little hand is all balled up into a tight fist and is outstretched towards me. “Is it a button?” She loves picking up these things from wherever she can. “No” “Hmm.. is it a marble?” “No…” “Then is it..’” “Never mind maa, I will show you” and she opens up her fist with a broad smile to show these precious petals from a rose flower, blood red in colour. I am at a loss at what to tell her. Do I tell her that a plant is a living being, and that she is not supposed to hurt another living thing? But how could - I - who kills cockroaches and mosquitoes, eats non vegetarian food – tell my daughter that it is wrong hurt another living be...

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

The sun rose like every other day, its rays orange and warm kissed her awake; the coffee her mom made was sweet; the bouquet of roses that came in still had thorns one of which pricked her; birds were singing but sounded nowhere close to violins playing; why then did they call this love? Asha smiled as she went on with her daily chores. Today was a big day for her, beyond doubts, but she knew it would be a bigger day for Milan – the day his dreams would start coming true, the day she would officially walk into his life, as his fiancĂ©.
